What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental Veneers are thin, custom-made tooth-coloured shells that are bonded to the surface of your teeth to improve their appearance. They can conceal several different cosmetic imperfections, leaving you with that beautiful smile you’ve always dreamed of.

With veneers, you can say goodbye to discolouration, chips, and irregularities, as they smoothly mask these imperfections and more. Whether you dream of a brighter, more symmetrical, or perfectly aligned smile, veneers are an excellent solution that enhances your smile's appearance while maintaining a natural look.

These veneers are customised by our artisanal dentists to match your natural teeth in size, shape, length and colour. We also use high-quality, long-lasting materials such as porcelain, composite resin and ceramic for your restorations.

If you are considering veneers, schedule a consultation with one of our experienced dentists at Warrnambool Smile Dental. We’ll assess what type of veneers are the best fit for you so that you can get started on achieving your dream smile.

While this may vary from patient to patient and the type of material used, your veneers can last between 7-10 years or even 20 years and more. With proper care and maintenance Dental Veneers are considered a great long-lasting solution to improve the aesthetics of your smile.

The number of Veneers you need will depend on your unique condition. The best way to find out is to consult with one of our experienced dentists, we will assess your smile and provide you with all the details.

Caring for your veneers is simple! You should maintain them the same way that you care for your natural teeth. This includes brushing twice a day, flossing once a day and visiting our dentist for regular checkups and cleanings.

Veneers are bonded to the front surface of your teeth, while crowns act as ‘caps’ that are used to cover your entire tooth structure. Both dental restorations can be used to improve the appearance of your teeth. Crowns are generally a solution used to further strengthen your teeth and maintain their functionality, however.

The entire process of getting veneers, from consultation to final placement, generally takes about 3 weeks. However, it also depends on your unique condition. In certain instances, your dental veneers may just take 1 to 2 visits to our dentist! Schedule a consultation with one of our experienced dentists and upon examination, we will be able to give you a better timeline.

Dental Veneers are minimally-invasive. In fact, most of our patients report feeling no discomfort at all during or after the procedure as we always make sure your comfort is our top priority.

Porcelain veneers are more stain-resistant than natural teeth. But it is still essential to avoid excessive consumption of staining-causing foods and drinks.

The process involves removing a small amount of enamel from your tooth’s front surface, taking impressions, custom-fabricating and finally bonding the veneers to your teeth.

Veneers are a popular cosmetic solution, but their suitability depends on individual factors. A thorough consultation with our dentist will help check if they’re the right fit for you.

Veneers are more suitable for addressing minor misalignments or irregularities. However, for severe orthodontic issues, alternatives may be recommended. Our dentist will guide you on the best solution based on your unique needs.
